Description
The Beinecke Scholarship Program was created in 1971 to provide substantial scholarships to college juniors with exceptional promise in the arts, humanities, and social sciences. Each scholar receives $35,000 in total to support their graduate studies, which can be supplemented with other grants or scholarships, and must use the funding within five years of completing their undergraduate studies.
Requirements and Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Must be a United States citizen or a United States national from American Samoa or the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands
- Must have demonstrated superior standards of intellectual ability, scholastic achievement, and personal promise during their undergraduate career
- Must be a college junior pursuing a bachelor's degree during the current academic year
- Must plan to enter a master's or doctoral program in the arts, humanities, or social sciences
- Must have a documented history of receiving need-based financial aid during their undergraduate years
- Must have a 3.0 or higher GPA
